Modified firmware provides EOS 300D/Digital Rebel owners with following additional functionality:

- Enter Flash Exposure Compensation using SET button

- SET button function when shooting

- Shutter release w/o CF card

- Flash sync speed in Av mode

- RAW+JPEG rec. Sets the quality of embedded JPEG

- Mirror Lock up

- Selects the autofocus mode: AIfocusAF, ONEShot

- ISO 3200

Known issues:

- The camera freezes on attempt to switch the user interface language. To change the user interface language use the original firmware.

To install the firmware you need:

1. Download the firware and save it to some folder on your hard drive.

2. Unpack it with RAR archiver.

3. Copy file with .fir extension to your flash card.

4. Insert the flash card into your camera and follow on-screen instructions.

About Digital Camera Firmware:

Updating to a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your camera can improve the device’s overall performance and stability, resolve various issues, and add support for newly developed features or enhance existing ones.

On the other hand, downgrading the camera’s firmware can recover its functionality in the unlikely event the currently installed version is faulty or the device’s performance dropped after an upgrade. However, bear in mind that applying an earlier build might not always be possible.
