Slave upgrade procedure

1. Switch VP-747 ON and verify in OSD that the Baud Rate (Utility>Misc Setting>Baud Rate) is set to 115200.

2. Connect the non standard RS232 cable as shown above. (PIN 4 is connected. Pins 2&3 are crossed).

3. Start DTR software.

4. From serial port, select Com port and press the open port button. Make sure the open Com LED turns green.

4. Select “Reset” button and verify communication stays ON.

5. Press “Download” button and select the slave file (FW_VSK…).

The download procedure will be executed automatically. If at the end of the process software shows message “CRC Check …Fail” – ignore the message and continue with the procedure.

6. When process is completed, turn the VP-747 unit OFF and ON.

About Device Firmware:

Applying a newer firmware version than the one already installed on your unit can bring various enhancements, include workarounds for diverse problems encountered by the device, and improve or add newly developed features.

On the other hand, downgrading the firmware version can recover the device’s functionality in the event of a software update either turning up faulty or causing the unit’s overall performance to drop. However, bear in mind that applying an older firmware isn’t recommended and might not always be possible.
