How to check the BIOS version:

- While the PC is off press and hold the volume control button on the side (VOL) + or – and press the power button. This will bring up the “VAIO Rescue Mode” screen.
- Select the BIOS settings launch icon.
- While the BIOS setup menu is displayed select “system information” this will bring up the BIOS version info.

About BIOS:

Although installing a newer BIOS version might add new features, update various components, or improve the device’s usability, this process is very risky, so the upgrade is recommended to be performed only when it is really needed.
